Hello, I'm Desirée Stanning and I began
FIN2FARM PET SITTING LLC
in late 2022. FIN2FARM PET SITTING is located in beautiful Sequim, Washington USA and services Clallam, Jefferson & Kitsap Counties. I will also travel extended distances for extended stays.
I am an experienced veterinary assistant who enjoys house and pet sitting (in your home), drop-ins for clients within 20 minutes of Sequim and assistance with at home veterinary nursing. Being licensed, insured and certified in pet CPR & emergent care, I can afford you peace of mind while you travel.
To share a little bit about me, I grew up on a hobby farm in SW Washington State in the shadow of Mount Saint Helens. We had cats, dogs and horses from the time I was a small child. We also had the occasional cow, goat, llama, sheep, pig, rabbit, tortoise, goose, chicken, duck, guinea fowl & fish.
Understandably, I developed an interest in veterinary medicine. I attended Colorado State University and majored in animal science. Since then I've worn many hats. This has included working and volunteering in the veterinary field, farm/stable help, equine rehabilitator & pet/house sitter.
While taking a break from the veterinary field, I needed a way to connect with animals outside of the clinic. That's how FIN2FARM PET SITTING was born. I offer a responsible, educated and savvy level of care for your fur babies. I will make sure your pets are cared for and your home is kept safe.
Having pet sat through landslides, ice storms, flooding, power outages, snow and wind storms, I can be depended upon to safely navigate whatever circumstances may develop during my stay. Aside from keeping your pets happy and healthy, my main objective is to allay any worries you may have before and during your trip. At your request, I am happy to send you pictures and updates once or twice a day.
As part of my service, I'll be more than happy to administer oral and injectable medication. I'll tidy up after myself and your pets. I will pick up mail and attend to small & light packages, as well as put your garbage and recycling out. Most "Could you also..." requests will be honored. Light plant watering will also be included however I will need specific instructions regarding plant care. My forte is fauna, not flora.
**FIN2FARM PET SITTING accepts only CASH or CHECK**
While pet sitting at your home, I'll care for your pets and keep your home safe. I'll treat your fluffy little darlings as if they were my own. I'll sleep with them, play with them, and of course be at their beck and call. I enjoy pet sitting for perfectly healthy pets, however, if you have a pet who needs medication or monitoring, then I'm your gal. Oral medication and simple injections are included in this service for pets easy to medicate. Unlike many other pet sitters, I will leave your pets for only short periods of time.
For clients within a 20 minute radius of Sequim needing a drop in feed/potty/walk/medicate. 30 minute visit includes a short walk
Extended visits can be customized to suit your needs. This includes extended care while you escape for a day trip to to Seattle or Victoria.
This includes things like helping you medicate your pet and administer fluids. Please note I am very limited in what I can do while not under the supervision of a veterinarian. Basically, if you've been sent home with instructions from your veterinarian, you may ask me to assist you. I will travel further for medical needs than for regular drop-ins.
I will spend the night in your home caring for your home, pets and/or livestock. I'll be at your home for most of my stay, leaving for only short periods of time (2-4 hours)
The price of each overnight stay includes 3 healthy small animal (dog, cat, rabbit, etc) with a fenced yard. Oral medication and simple injections are included for those animals easy to medicate. Prices for some lifestages, large animals, exotics, medically needy, difficult to medicate pets, etc will vary. Please contact FIN2FARM PET SITTING LLC with questions.
Prices will vary. Please contact FIN2FARM PET SITTING
For returns falling outside of the 24 hour time frame, I reserve the right to charge for that time. So a pet sit beginning at 8:00 am on one day and ending at 8:00 pm on another day may be charged for 12 hours or 50% of the charge for an entire day.
Spending 30 minutes with your pet(s) for feeding/potty breaks/medication
In order to secure your Reservation, I ask for a deposit of 50% of the entire agreed upon amount. I find it easiest to take care of the deposit at the Meet & Greet. The remainder of the fee is due at the beginning of the pet sit.
FIN2FARM PET SITTING LLC accepts only CASH or CHECK for Services
My generous cancellation policy allows for a full refund if cancelled at least 21 days before the scheduled pet sit. Cancellations closer to the pet sit will be refunded on a prorated scale. I will attempt to fill those dates. You will be responsible for any dates that I'm unable to rebook. In order to cancel your reservation, you must speak directly with me via cell phone at 360.901.3832. Texts, messages and emails sometimes get lost, thus the need for a phone conversation.
The 2 days before and after the following holidays will incur a Holiday Fee of $20.00/day. The holidays referred to are July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day and New Years Eve/Day
MINIMUM ACCOMMODATIONS: For overnight stays, I will need a clean and safe place to eat, sleep, shower and park. I will also need access to your washing machine and dryer. Finally, I must have the freedom to adjust your thermostat during my stay for comfort and health. During the summer months, air conditioning must be available if your home gets over 75* indoors.
RABIES: All dogs and cats must be vaccinated for Rabies (as required by state law). Should you choose not to vaccinate for rabies, I will need a copy of your Rabies Exemption Letter signed by your veterinarian. No exceptions. Please have a copy of your Rabies Certificate (not the tag on the collar) handy for the Meet & Greet.
LEASHES: For insurance reasons, please understand I am unable to exercise your dog OFF leash when in public. Because of the inherent danger to pets and humans, I will also not be using RETRACTABLE leashes. I travel with three regular leashes of varying lengths so I've got your pack covered.
AGGRESSION: I am unable to provide service for any animal that has aggressively bitten other pets or humans. All other forms of aggression MUST be disclosed and discussed further. Please note, I am not an animal behaviorist.
BARKING: I am not able to care for dogs who Bark excessively.
UNALTERED: Due to the additional level of responsibility, I will not be caring for Unaltered pets older than One year of age. If you have juvenile unaltered female, please have a plan in case she comes into heat unexpectedly while in my care. Issues of cleanliness and safety should be considered while making a plan.
HOUSE BROKEN: I'll be happy to help a young "Tinkler in Training" make good choices with frequent trips outside. Same with the ill or aged. While I realize all fur babies can have an occasional accident in the house (especially when stressed or ill), I am unable to sit for a dog or cat who has accidents often or is not house broken. I am also not able to care for those using wee pads or diapers. Your dog must be able to potty outside and be housebroken.
VISITORS/HOUSEKEEPING: While seeming innocuous, visits from service providers, friends and family pose certain unexpected challenges. When the house keepers come I am required to pack and unpack my stuff. They move my things, they move the owner's stuff and I'm often required to be absence from the home for hours at a time. When landscapers come, I have to worry about gates being left open, chemicals and tools left out, etc. My liability insurance is never thrilled to hear of these visits. It is a major inconvenience so I am now requiring a hefty fee. It's best to schedule these services for a time that I'm not at your home. Depending upon the degree of intrusion, I will be charging $50.00-$100.00 per visit. Of course, emergency service personel are exempt.
SURVEILLANCE: I require the disabling of all security cameras that surveille inside of your home. Should you have any outdoor cameras that point INTO your home, I will either need these turned off or I'll require blinds, curtains or some other obstruction to afford me privacy. As per Washington state law, I do not consent to audio recordings of any kind.
WEATHER: In the event of extreme winter weather and risk to life, limb and property we will need to be in communications regarding canceling all or part of the pet sit. Either party may initiate these talks. Also, regarding winter travel, I will try to add a buffer at the end of each pet sit in case of flight delays and adverse driving conditions. In the spring, summer and fall I'll be less likely to add a buffer.
PAPERWORK: Please note I need you to fill out my paperwork and not freestyle a document of your own. I know exactly where to look for information with my paperwork. If you have information to share that is not in my questionaire, feel free to address these concerns with an addendum of your own. Liability Paperwork and Veterinary Emergency Care Authorization Paperwork must be completed and submitted at the Meet & Greet. I will be unable to begin your pet sit without your signature on both the Liability Paperwork and Veterinary Emergency Care Authorization Paperwork. Should you find issue with either of these documents, please let me know immediately as we will need to cancel the sit.
